The Shot Was Easy… The Silence Wasn’t

There are some hunts that stay with you forever.

Before we even set foot in the Queensland bush, I wasn’t sure I wanted to hunt a donkey. I’d happily hunted deer, buffalo, camels, pigs and goats before, but for some reason this felt different. I couldn’t explain why… and that’s exactly why I decided to explore it.

In this episode, KC and I head out in search of a mob of donkeys. When the opportunity finally presents itself, the shot is straightforward.

What happens next isn’t.

This isn’t a video about celebrating death. It’s about confronting the difficult moral and ethical questions that come with choosing to hunt your own food. Sometimes the greatest lessons come from the moments that make us uncomfortable.

Whether you’re a hunter, someone who’s curious about hunting, or someone who disagrees with it entirely, I hope you’ll watch this episode with an open mind.

Season 5 features authentic Australian hunting adventures, including water buffalo, red deer, feral pigs, goats, and other iconic game species. Throughout the season we’ll be hunting with everything from .375 H&H and .30-06 rifles to traditional black powder rifles and bows, hunting both on foot and from our buggies as we explore one of Australia’s premier hunting properties.
