The adventure begins. We are back for Season 4, and this time, the Huntsman team is crossing the ditch to the rugged landscapes of New Zealand. This season isn’t just about the trophy; it’s about the raw reality of exploration. We’re touching down in areas we’ve never stepped foot in before, leaning on the legends at Helicopters Nelson to get us into the deep backcountry.
From public peaks to private leases, we’re after Red deer, Fallow, Chamois, and Goats—but more importantly, we’re after the experience. This season is a deep dive into the learning curve of a new land, the inevitable mistakes made along the way, and the unbreakable mateship that keeps the camp fire burning.
Chris, Jordi, and Brad touch down in Nelson and waste no time heading for the hills. We fly out to the Gosling Camp, a unique private land lease tucked away in a lush bush valley. After settling into our “luxury” accommodation—a repurposed water tank—and checking the zeros on the rifles, it’s straight up the ridges to see if we can secure some meat for the table.
It’s an action-packed start to the trip, with the team finding themselves in the thick of it with multiple deer and goats right out of the gate.
