Good things happen when you work with good people. It’s a simple philosophy, but it’s the backbone of everything we do with The Huntsman. When you surround yourself with folks who take pride in their craft and live and breathe the outdoors, magic happens.
About a year ago, I was catching up with long-time friend of the show Craig from Tassie Tiger Knives at a trade expo. We were standing around talking gear, story lines, and upcoming trips when Craig casually leaned over and said:
“We should make a Huntsman knife.”
My response was instant: “Hell yes, we should!”
We didn’t just want to slap our logo on an off-the-shelf blade and call it a day, though. If we were going to put The Huntsman name on a piece of steel, it had to be something that could genuinely take a beating in the bush and ask for more.
Twelve months later—after countless design tweaks, steel comparisons, prototype revisions, and hard field testing—we are stoked to introduce the Tassie Tiger “Huntsman” Knife.
It marks a huge milestone for us: the very first Huntsman product available on retail shelves nationwide.
When Craig and I started laying out the blueprint, we kept coming back to what actually matters when you’re knee-deep in a break-down miles from camp. You don’t need gimmicks; you need reliability, edge retention, and comfortable ergonomics when your hands are slick and tired.

Before giving this knife the final tick of approval, I wanted to make sure it proved itself where it counts. This workhorse has been on my belt through some of the toughest country and toughest animals imaginable.
It’s butchered buffalo, camel, stags, bucks, goats, pigs, and even an ostrich. Through thick hide, heavy bone, and long days of processing meat in demanding environments, it hasn’t missed a single beat. It holds an edge like a champion and cleans up easily at the end of the day.
It’s rare to find a blade that balances raw durability with precision like this, but Craig and the team at Tassie Tiger nailed it.
