The Mountain provides a deer

Hunting Videos

This is the ‘Just the Hunt‘ cut of Season 3, Episode 9 from The Huntsman.

Everything in this edit has been stripped back to the hunt itself. No music. No promos. No cinematic sequences. No camp scenes. Just boots on the ground, reading sign, making decisions, and dealing with the outcome.

Filmed on Victorian High Country public land, Chris Waters and KC return to the mountains with a clearer plan and unfinished business. Moving through steep, rocky country heavy with fresh sambar sign, they work a natural travel route used by deer moving between feeding areas.

The hunt unfolds step by step — following tracks uphill, setting up on a rocky knob, calling, waiting, and holding steady through a tense stand-off when a sambar responds. When the shot is taken, the work begins immediately.

What you’ll see next is the reality of public land sambar hunting: quartering and processing the animal where it fell, then packing heavy meat off the mountain. No shortcuts. No gloss. Just the process as it happened.

This Just the Hunt series is made for hunters who want to watch the decisions, the mistakes, and the work — not the polish. Nothing added. Nothing removed except the noise.
